Only second floor...

I had set up my hopes to get an apartment as high up as possible to actually get as good view as possible, I got really disapointed when I got room number 218 from the reception, 218 is on second floor but I got a surpise again, second floor on the other side of the building is like 4-5 floor so Im satified. I can actually see the sea from my balkong.

First morning in Los Cristianos

First morning and to my suprise I actually got ”WIFI” in the room at the hotel!?!?

In the brochyr it said ”no wifi”. OK, "wifi wifi sucky sucky” but sometimes it seems to work. It is better then what I got at home which is this free ”WIFOG” Null is Null ( google it for info). 

I had a really simple breakfast with some stuff that I had bought the evening before and as it vacation time I also had me a "Screwdriver" ;-)

First evening and dinner

First day I metup with my brother and his family at the beachpromenad and later we went up to thier apartment for drinks and relax a bit. Pretty OK standard of the apartment(well it is Spanish styled). About two hours went by and we dicided to meet at the apartment later as we all needed to get freshened up and shower so I went back to my hotel, the Guayero.

I took a shower, put some fresh clodes on and went back to the apartment. A glas wine later we headed to a small resturant nearby, more or less just around the corner. A ”Taps and Wine” resturant. Only one of the kids went with us the other one stayed home to look at the newly bought dvd.

EDIT:
My brother had an accident and hurt his back, later that evening he had to go to the hospital too get it checked, they x-rayed it but did not find anything. Somehow he manage too put some clodes on and we went for dinner.

These were really good, we also had some fried potatoe/tuna balls and some other "fried balls", yepp I do not remeber the names ;-)

My brother is a chef in a kitchen in Halmstad so he really knows food but this he had never tried, neither have I so it will be the first time for fried Sardines(it also included a white sauce).

One more lemon and it might be possible to eat more then just one ... smells fishy ... taste is fishy ... not recommended but now at least we have tried it.

Arrived on Tenerife

It is so nice too finally have arrived to Tenerife and the city of Los Cristianos.

After a flight of about less then 6 hours in ”sardinclass” which is touristclass I arrived at the airport.

It is the south airport, Tenerife has two airports, one in the north and one in the south.

The long wait for the suitcase was followed by the news of that the transfer bus had not yet arrived … gaah …

Well the bus came at last and we started the trip to the different hotels and of course mine was almost the last one, a pair still was on the bus.

Of course there were also a wait for the room to get ready and some how my roomkey was lost ;-)

During this time I had some SMS conversation with my brother and wanted too meet up with them all as soon as possible. I got my key but no one showed me the location of the room, OK fine, I can manage it my self. I got to my room quickly changed to something more proper for the weather. Got out of the room, close the door and it got locked, fine I have a key but it would not open, I tried getting hold of the manager, no luck, nobody was around, tried open the door again, still same result. Then I realized what was wrong I had locked the door with another key from the inside and turn the key to a position that from the outside your can not stick in the key long enough in to the lock and thereby locking the door from inside…

Antonio, the handyman showed up and he fixed it by unscrewing the hole lock from the door and showed me the reason for the issue, which I already knew. Antonio doesn’t speak single word of English with me all was in spanish 

;-)

I got to the beachpromenad and met up with my brother and his family, beer time and chatting at a small restuarant, kids got a bit bored and headed to the beach, digging in the sand for a while then bading in the ocean.

Packing, yesterday, saturday!!!

Im packing ... I always think it is hard work and no fun at all as Im such a control freak when it comes to things such as packning. I need everything to be mint condition and perfect order ...
The hardest part is all my equipments, like cameras and electronics:

-Canon EOS 7D
- Canon compact camera
- Sony Z1 mobil
- Macbook AIR 13"
- ...

This time it is not fully packed as I left so much stuff at home as I do not use them most of the time so for the first time of many vacation trips I do not have to worry about the weight of the suitcase.

Ooooh my good that was pretty near ...

So this morning I was driving to Arlanda Airport in Stockholm.

There were not many cars out at this ...like 03.45 in the morning however a couple of deers got my attention as the were standing beside the road. The only great thing about driving at this time is that you can use your "headlights" powered on and you really can see if there are any animals beside at the road. the first Deer was far away an turned around out into the field, the second one was just look away and I had to break had(thank good for ABS) and then he/she heard the dubbs on the asfalt and also turn into the field. After these acounters I was on my toose!!!

Not many days left

This coming sunday is the day that trip to Tenerife begins but actually I begun my christmas vacation last friday.
Today I have checked my suitcase and what it contains since the last trip, that was actually in december 2013 - January 2014 so it been a while, no suprises in there. I also have to check all my cameras, I usually bring to many and I figure that this time I will not bring every little accassories as I most often doesn't use half of them anyways. The weight is a bit too great and I do not wanna pay extra money for bringing stuff I do not use.

Hmmm:
- a Canon compact camera
- a Canon 70D with a couple of lenses
- my GoPro 3???
- Sony Z1 mobile for quick blogging
- Ipad Retina or Macbook 13" ???

21 day left ... woooooooohoooooo

This Sunday I got a mail from my tripadvisor telling that it is only 21 days left until my flight goes from Arlanda airport, Stockholm - Sweden.
I just can not wait .... wooohooo I been longing for some vacation time and this Christmas I will have about 3 week or a bit more actually. I will actually have a week of vacation before a leave for Teneriffe and too meet my brother and his family.
Warm weather, playtime with the brats, a couple of beers, relaxing and enjoying Teneriffe as a whole.

Well, 21 days is not correct TODAY as that is 3 days ago so ... if calculated right it is actually only 18 days left ;-)

Longing for Tenerife

It is not long now to the vacation time and meeting my brother and his family in Tenerife. I have chat with with my brother today and he is pepped to go for vacation and so am I, they will arrive to Tenerife one week earlier than me. So this is actually not a planned vacation together rather a unplanned visit from my side to come to Tenerife but it makes it much easier for me to have some kind of company for my first week of stay( in an unknown place) . My second week I will be spending alone just doing whatever I feel like.
